Sean Robertson joined the team at Caroline Counsel Family Lawyers in 2018 and worked in various administrative roles and undertook post graduate work before being admitted to legal practice. Sean was admitted to practice as a lawyer in 2019.
Sean completed a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts majoring in Legal Studies at La Trobe University in 2018. Sean completed his Practical Legal Training course at The College of Law. Sean excels at working with clients to ensure their IT and online privacy in a post separation setting. As a unique offering to Caroline Counsel Family Law clients, Sean assesses where clients may be exposed by virtue of using online and social media platforms. He assesses their current technology and helps better protect their online communication and presence. He has found this review to be particularly important in cases involving family violence – particularly of a coercive controlling manner. Sean can assure clients that, as far as their former partners are concerned, their communication with our firm is kept confidential.
Many of Caroline Counsel Family Lawyers’ clients have benefited by Sean’s involvement in their matters given the varying roles he has already performed in the firm. He provides continuity in the client experience of the firm and is therefore able to work with other team members to ensure seamless service to the firm’s clients.
Sean is looking forward to developing his legal career as a solicitor and further exploring his particular interest in how technology can be used to perpetuate the cycle of abuse when there has been family violence and in the broader context of family law.
